1st 9 Weeks Curriculum Math We will be working on using 3D shapes to create new shapes, telling time to the hour and half hour, understanding that 2 digits of a 2 digit number represent amounts of tens and ones (ex: 25 is made up of 2 tens and 5 ones), and relating counting to addition.
Science We will be discussing the sky: day and night. We will also use geographic tools to identify land forms (maps/google maps). We will complete a geo-caching project.
Social Studies We will discuss traditions and hoidays (past/present) and finish the nine weeks with Martin Luther King, Jr. to discuss why national holidays are celebrated.
Word Work -ash, -ish, -ush -amp, -ump, -imp -ing, -ang, -ong, -ung -ank, -ink, -onk, -unk -and, -end, -ond CVCE words (ex: make, like, site) adding -ing to CVCE words (ex: make - e + ing = making)

3rd 9 Weeks Curriculum Math We will focus on all four strands again this nine weeks. We will learn about measurement by ordering three objects by length and comparing the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third. We will learn about commutative (ex. 1+5=5+1) and associative (ex. (3+4)+1=3+(4+1) ) properties of addition. We will learn whether an addition sentence is true or false (ex. 2+3=5 is true while 1+6=8 is false). We will learn how to add 3 whole numbers together (ex. 2+4+3=9). We will learn how to solve for missing addends (ex. +8=10). We will finish the third nine weeks learning about two digit addition.
Science This nine weeks in science will focus on rocks, minerals, and soil.
Social Studies The third nine weeks will focus on maps, Presidents Day, Black History, and St. Patrick’s Day! Word Work r controlled vowels -ai, -ay -ea, -ee, -oa -ou -ow -igh two syllable words double consonants
